MY TOP 8 OVERRATED VILLAINS by TimeBoy08 MY TOP 8 OVERRATED VILLAINS by TimeBoy08
Might as well use my own meme:

(8
General Grievous (Star Wars) If there was any example of a moustache twirling villain, this idiot would be a great example. Okay so the guy kills Jedi..in a non canon cartoon. All other forms of media have hum stuck with that stupid Russian accent and running away you might as well have not bothered with him. Did he add anything in Revenge of the Sith? No. He was just there to  cough and run. That’s all he ever did.

(7 The Weeping Angels (Doctor Who). These things were scary, yeah. Second appearance..not so much. Third time round..not even close. I’m sorry but these things only work as one off villains. Ever since Matt Smith, theres always been that stupid whoosing sound effect everytime they move which really takes away the fear. And don’t even get me started on the Statue of Liberty being a Angel and walking towards New York..you mean to tell me no one was looking at it?! Bullshit.

(6 Asura (Soul Eater) He hardly appears, can defeat weapons and their wielders but a PUNCH kills him. Give me a break.

(5 Lord Voldemort (Harry Potter) Do I even need to describe why I hate him? We keep being told he’s unstoppable but outside of the Horcuxes, we get very little evidence. Hell, Umbridge and Bellatrix have been shown to be more threatening than him. All this guy does is get beaten over and over again, it’s hard to take the threat seriously when he can’t even kill a one year old.

(4 Loki (The Avengers) He works well as a tragic villain but  when he’s the main villain? No. In the Avengers, you might as well have called him the punching bag, everyone gets a turn to whack him across the room and he even gets tricked  by Black Widow..BLACK WIDOW. Thor 2 reduces him to comic relief and less said about that film the better.

(3 Heath Ledger’s Joker (Dark Knight)…dont get me wrong, Ledger did a great performance as a insane maniac  but not as the Joker. Sure there were a few jokes, but all used up in the first hour, he hardly smiles and 95 percent of his dialogue is monologues. Not to mention he’s scarier than Scarecrow. Yeah, you know somethings wrong when thats the case. Maybe if Ledger wasn’t given stories where Joker just monologues, we could have had a great Joker, but we didn’t. A great performance, yes. Joker? Sorry, Heath, but you performance as just too serious for me to see the Clown Prince of Crime.

(2 Boba Fett (Star Wars) he does every little outside of standing there and falling into the Sarlacc Pit.

(1 Light Yagami (Death Note) Good God, I despise this character and the fact he’s so overpowered. Death Note as a series has always been one that tried TOO hard to be clever and Light was TOO intelligent. I’m not gonna refer to the god awful musical ending but rather the anime. Okay so at first his methods are believable like the trap he did to hide the notebook but when he kills a innocent..yeah true justice (!) Plus, L knew right `way he was Kira and it never occurred to anyone that  Light was the killer? Id think the evil laughter and dry humping L’s grave whilst proclaiming his victory would be enough proof.

Not to mention is his intelligence. okay I can accept to some level this kid is bright and intelligent, no mistake there. But when you seriously expect me to believe he planned out EVERYTHING when he lost his memories, then I call bull on that. L died purely by luck that everything went according to plan, Light was lucky Rem didn’t write his name down instead of L’s. Don’t get me started on how this could have all been easily dealt with if someone just LOOKED at the handwriting in the Death Note!

Theres my top 8 overrated villains,

Honourable Mentions include:

Nightmare Moon
Gilgamesh

Any OUAT Villain.

A bit surprise to see the Weeping Angels but at the same time, it is understandable. There isn't really much to them after all.

I extremely dislike Lord Voldermort, like you said, not much threatening or even pure evil. For the first to second film, I enjoy his threatening and true villain acts until four till eight - he's nothing but a pale and sad broken villains - not really villain at all. His voice sounds like more sad and barely even scarier like Frollo or Jafar. Directors really make him sucks.

For Joker, it's not overrated because Christopher Nolan has his own style - realistic and original style. He's not the only villain that does not share the similar ability as the comic or animated series such as Ra's Al Ghul, Bane and even Talia.

For General Griveous, rather than just seeing movie, if you see animated series - you could see how threatening he can be though he can be coward because he has some limits or got caught unprepared when Jedi attacked or surprised him with ambush and tricks, or even his plans got backfired or army outnumbered by more than thousands.

I don't know about Loki. Loki was obsessed in wanting the throne like spoiled brat. He wants to become king and prove that he is better than Thor or refuse to be equal with the weaklings. Like gods, they're invincible and immortal. That is what Loki thinks. He rather used his illusion and mind tricks on his enemies, than the fists such as the Avengers and Thor 2.

As for Boba Fett, he's just a minor character while not main one because he returned home for bring frozen Han Solo to his master. Like every bounty hunter, they were overconfident and arrogant that they can take care of amateurs and jokers which led him to his doom. Even Clone Wars, he make some several mistakes.

That's all I can said.

But what really makes ledger overrated to me is that everyone thinks the comic Joker should be like him. You might as well call this joker the Monolouger

Every director have their own style such as Steven Speilberg makes about family and friendship theme movies, Michael Bay - badass and war fictional movies, Christopher Nolan - realistic and original movie type. And so Heath Ledger studied the comic books and carefully to understand to convert Joker into more deadly and dark villain which challenge Batman's morality and justice of how to handle the enemies.

And besides, while animated series or even the shows show some laughing gas but to reality from Nolan's - he put a scarred smile on his victim a warning or message.

Yeah but the whole point of the joker is that he is the opposite of batman. Outside of a few laughs, he just didn't feel like him. I thought he'd be a better zazass with how obsessed with the knives he is.

and Joker is scary here..but that's not always a good thing when he's scarier than scarecrow.

Don't get me wrong I still think he's one of my favorite villains in anime...but..I have to admit he's a tad bit overrated.
